Monster Trucks, Movies, and Jesus

The title basically sums up my weekend. This is a slightly-belated Easter post, but I was out of town and I actually left my computer at home on purpose, which was nice.

So I was in North Carolina, because I figured if I couldn't spend it with my family, I should at least spend it with someone I love. Enter the boyfriend, who lives there now for school. He is not going to get one of those blogger nicknames like people tend to do, and he will not be a major feature of this blog, partly because he has less to do with speech pathology than some other things, like what I did in therapy this week, which seems to be more relevant somehow. But mostly, I don't know how he would feel about being a feature on two people's blogs in the same day (oops, that just happened right now. Sorry...) (ps.. dear boyfriend, if you're reading, hi and I'll warn you in the future about any posts regarding you, okay?)

This is true entertainment, folks.

Anyway, I left Friday afternoon after getting an excellent pedicure. My new fave nail polish color? Pamplona Purple. It's like normal purple, but with a fun name. Win-win. Whilst in NC, we went to a Monster Jam monster truck show in order to expand cultural horizons. It was surprisingly entertaining and surprisingly empty of rednecks. But it was also the matinee performance, so I bet it was more full of fun folks at the evening show. I'd bet my boots on it!

Then we had a lovely Easter dinner, and I realized that I do like ham when it's cooked in a delicious way. More horizon expanding!

Sunday morning was, of course, Easter and the celebration of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ actually coming back to life three days after being crucified and buried because he died for our sins. It's amazing and the most incredible expression of love and grace imaginable, and our God is so good. Oh, how He loves us. So even though this is an Easter post, and a little belated, He has risen, and He is still alive indeed. Hallelujah!

Then, I watched Inception (is that supposed to be underlined, italicized, or in quotations? I don't care enough to check) finally, and it was really good. I like movies that mess with your mind like that.

But all the fun had to end at 4:00 am eastern time when I woke up and took the flight back to Nashville. Another week of class and work and classwork, but it was a great weekend and I'm ready for another.

Also, I have trouble keeping posts to being really short. I am just verbose. Let's just assume I have Wernicke's aphasia and a bit of logorrhea. And bonus, we can blame anything I say that doesn't make sense on that, too!
(with all due respect to individuals with Wernicke's aphasia)
