Where the Heart Is

No, not that Natalie Portman movie about the girl who has her baby in Wal-Mart that has a part filmed at Baylor (!).  (Okay I tried looking for a video clip but couldn't find one.  It's the scene near the end if you want to look it up for yourself.)

But really, home is where the heart is.  I am home for one week, two extra days thanks to the flexibility of my Maymester supervisor letting me have Thursday and Friday off.  I am going to soak up this week like a good sponge so I can be all prepared to go back to school and face reality - at least, until the next time I get to come home in August.

Things I love about being home:
- free air conditioning
- air conditioning that works
- actually feeling cold sometimes because of the awesome air conditioning
- not having to pay for groceries
- not having to pay for gas
- not having to go to school or work
- actually knowing where I'm going when I'm driving around
- the smell of home when I walk in the door (although, my house kinda smells like old wood, so it's not the smell itself, but just the knowledge that I'm home)
- having a shower that works really well
- having a refrigerator that I can trust
- swimming pool!
- two letters: QT
- fast internet
- a bed that doesn't twist my neck up into knots
- getting to see friends! (soon)
- getting to see family!!!! yay!!!!!
- talking to my mom all day long and still not running out of things to say
- having time to sit and read on my favorite spot on the couch
- radio stations I actually like
- seeing Texas license plates on cars and being surprised and wondering why they're here and then remembering I'm not in Tennessee anymore
- playing my piano!
- listening to airplanes fly by
- listening to fire trucks drive by
- not listening to helicopters fly by
- feeling at home :)
