Presby- is the medical suffix for old age. Presbycusis = hearing changes due to aging. Presbylarynx = laryngeal changes due to aging. Presbyopia = vision changes due to aging.
Today, I feel kinda old. Presbylauren = Lauren changes due to aging.
Yesterday, I turned 23, which sounds much older than 22. Mostly because it is older.
Today was my last first day of school ever, unless I totally lose my mind and decide to go back for a PhD.
No worries. That's not going to happen.
Well, losing my mind might. But the PhD thing, not happening.
Clinical doctorate, maybe, if that ever happens.
I just want to be called Dr.
I would also go for Dr. and Mrs. I think that's close enough.
Not that I'm on a Dr.ofanykind hunt.
But I do admire the pursuit of higher education.
Too bad there's not a different title for a Master's degree. I'd just like to be called Master, actually.
But not in a slave-owning way. I would've been Miss or Ma'am then, anyway.
They didn't have air conditioning then; I would have just died living in the South when my ancestors did.
Where was I?
Oh yes, losing my mind.
Um.
So yes, even though I am young and I know I'm young, there's now this whole new class of first years, we are all the "wise" second years, in fewer than 6 months I will be finished with classes, and in fewer than 9 months I will have my degree and (hopefully) a big girl job.
What up, independence!
Today, I also feel kind of tired. Just not ready to do this school thing again yet. Break wasn't long enough, and I'm still kind of emotionally reeling, which makes me still feel physically tired. Sigh.
Can I do the rest of school like this?
I think so.
Anyway.
At least I don't have any grey hairs. My black cat has more grey hairs than I do.
So I can't be that old yet.
Phew.
I have several post ideas lined up in my head, some of them being mentally written for weeks. I just have a hard time having time to write them. Or I forget what I was going to say.
Let's just chalk it up to age.
